Lorna Houston

Lorna is a trainer, facilitator, coach and organsiational development practitioner. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences (General Psychology & Organisational Psychology) from UC, a Certificate in Adult Education from UWC. As a Facilitator and  Life Coach she uses  using Transactional Analysis, Appreciative Inquiry, bodywork, meditation  and visualisation.  Drawing on years of community activism and senior management experience in large institutions and in the NGO sector, she is able to contribute to organisational growth and strengthening. She first developed her organising and leadership skills as a community activist. She has held many leadership positions, notably at UCT this included serving as the Vice-Chancellor’s Nominee on Sexual Harassment, UCT Senate member and Chair of the UCT Institutional Culture Working Group. She has 12 years’ experience in higher education and 10 years of senior management experience in the non-profit sector. She actively collaborated with Molo Songololo, WF or Wellness Foundation (formerly AIDS Response) Jazzart Dance Theatre Umbon’ Omhle Youth Development Organisation, Uthmaan Educational Foundation (UEF). She is well placed to contribute to organisational growth and strengthening.
